Barbecued pork ramen:

My main was barbecued pork ramen.  It was served on a small, lit gas well to keep the soup warm.  The broth had a frankly unattractive opaque white color to it, and I was dreading that it might be some sort of sweet, creamy soup.  Instead, it had a nice savory flavor, and I guess just a little bit of cream or milk was used to give it that color.  There was corn, sweet seaweed, bean sprouts, dried seaweed, all the usual stuff.  The dish was excellent.

After all of yesterday's eating, I only broke for lunch today after walking around a bit in the late morning.  I figure I'd stay in and rest to get ready for whatever I end up doing for New Year's Eve.  I found a good ramen joint near my hotel.  Luckily for me, they had an English menu.

Barbecued pork:

Whole Sauteed Prawns

Again, the appetizer come to me right after my main, but that's OK.  This pork starter was served only slightly warm with sesame seeds, sweet seaweed and a little bit of barbecue sauce.  It was tasty and I was able to use some of it in my ramen.
